Workers linking tennis and pickleball court at Henry Park

Mayor Dan Champagne and the Town Council will celebrate the newly resurfaced and striped tennis, pickleball and basketball courts at Henry park at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, with a ribbon cutting.

The public is welcome.

The courts were milled and paved last fall. They were painted and lined last week.

Two tennis courts and two pickleball courts were installed. The two pickleball courts are on one of the tennis courts. Pickleball players will be able to move a portable net into place when they play.

“We initially planned to replace the two tennis courts, but neighbors and pickleball enthusiasts convinced us to add the pickleball courts,” Mayor Dan Champagne said. “I hope that our residents enjoy these courts for years to come.”

Mayor Champagne was concerned noise from pickleball would disturb people who live in the area. Neighbors, however, came to a town council meeting asking for pickleball courts.
