Contractors for Eversource Energy have begun trimming and removing trees in Vernon. The company said its goal is to reduce power interruptions. Trees are the primary cause of power outages.
Asplundh Tree Expert Co. is performing the work. The map in the photo accompanying this article shows where work is to be performed.
Drought, disease and intense storms have taken a toll on Connecticut’s trees. Tree crews will trim trees, and remove those deemed to pose a hazard.
