The Tolland County Multidisciplinary Team (TCMT) Seniorhood Fair offers seniors, adults, and caregivers ways to plan and enhance their "seniorhood" years through workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, and resources. Exhibitors will showcase a variety of public and private services that are available in the local community which focus on the lifestyle needs of a growing senior population. Learn about Medicare, as well as options for housing, transportation, safety, and home care services. Leisure and recreation ideas will be offered, too.

10 a.m. – Promoting Mental Well-Being and Social Connection in Seniors, presented by Ashley E. Perreira, Psy.D., Natchaug Hospital Director of Inpatient Clinical Services.
This presentation will explore the prevalence of mental health risks among older adults, with a focus on the critical role that social connectedness, sense of purpose, and meaningful engagement play in mitigating isolation and supporting emotional well-being. Attendees will gain insight into the challenges faced by the aging population and learn strategies to foster resilience, reduce loneliness, and promote mental health through community, relationships, and purposeful activity.
11 a.m. – Estate Planning 101, presented by Allison Poirier of Kahan Kerensky Caposella attorneys. This presentation will cover: (1) Wills/Trusts – what the documents do and why you might choose one over the other; (2) Incapacity planning – what the documents are (powers of attorney, health care directives, living wills, conservator appointments), what they do, who to appoint, and what happens if you don’t have them in place; (3) Probate basics - what assets have to pass through probate upon death and what the probate process entails.
Noon – Medicare, presented by Maureen McIntyre, CEO, North Central Area Agency on Aging. Overview the North Central Area Agency on Aging with a focus on the CHOICES program’s work with Medicare, and Medicare Open Enrollment Period.
1 p.m. – Scam Prevention for Seniors, by Leah Pollard, Esq., Connecticut Legal Services. Billions of dollars are stolen from senior citizens through scams every year. This presentation will introduce a simple but effective technique to help reduce the number of seniors who are victimized. Learn all about Check First!

Exhibitor Applications Are Available Now.
Exhibitor information:
Exhibitors will be provided with a 6-foot table and two chairs.
Registration will open at 8 a.m. Set up is from 8 - 9:30 a.m.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and exhibitors are expected to keep their exhibit open until 2 p.m. close of the fair.
Breakdown and clearing of tables is from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m.
On-site sale of products is prohibited.
Fees:
Cost for exhibitor table for public sector and nonprofit organizations is $50. Cost for private sector businesses and groups is $200.
A limited number of double table exhibit spaces will be available. The fee is $100 for public sector and nonprofit organizations and $400 for private sector businesses and groups.
No refunds will be issued for cancellation once registration is processed.

Hockanum Valley Community Council
HVCC has been serving communities in Tolland, Windham, and Hartford counties. Our mission is to provide services to individuals and families in a manner which will promote independence while ensuring basic needs are met, regardless of ability to pay. To accomplish this mission, HVCC provides three major programs: Basic Needs, Dial-a-Ride Transportation, and Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment. The Basic Needs program consists of case management services, community workshops, and an emergency food pantry. Dial-a-Ride provides para-transit for homebound elderly and disabled individuals utilizing door-to-door scheduling on a first come, first served basis.
