All persons are encouraged to bring forward legitimate complaints regarding possible misconduct or malfeasance of agency employees. Agency members must courteously inform an individual of his or her right to make a complaint if the individual objects to an employee's conduct or actions. The Department accepts complaints anonymously or from third parties.

Citizens are also encouraged to compliment an officer if they believe the officer performed exceptional or noteworthy service.
