Live Here - Love Trees
Urban Forest Equity Grant
The Town of Vernon has been awarded funding to expand access to trees and green spaces in its disadvantaged community area.
The Live Here - Love Trees program is open to all home and business owners located within the portion of Vernon that is north of South Street, east of West Road, south of the Ellington line and west of Grove and Prospect streets. You can view the area in the graphic below.
There is no cost to participate in the program, however educational workshops and written permission from the landowner will be required for any trees planted and for all maintenance activities conducted on private land. Funding for the Live Here - Love Trees program is provided by the USDA, Forest Service Forestry Equity Grants, administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and supported by the Inflation Reduction Act.
