Senior Center Activities, week of June 14 - 18, 2021

We have opened the outdoor activities. Outdoor activities include the following: pickleball, shuffle board, horseshoes, bocce, cornhole toss, & ladder toss.  All in-house programs and outdoor activities require registration. Please call the Center to get registered. At this time, no walk-ins will be permitted and masks and social distancing are recommended.  All participants need to be members of the Center. Please keep watching our news releases, newsletters, and Facebook page for the newest updates. If there are any further questions, please call the Center at 860-870-3680.

Monday, June 14th

9:30am & 1:00pm – Billiards – The Center has opened the billiard room. Up to four seniors can play at a time. Please call the Center to reserve a spot.

1:00pm -  Chair Yoga with Lisa – Gentle yoga poses practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support. Chair Yoga is held on Mondays at 1:00pm on Facebook Live.

1:00pm – Strawberry Shortcake Festival – This is a reminder for those that have already registered. The registration is closed for this program.

Tuesday, June 15th

9:30am & 1:00pm – Billiards – The Center has opened the billiard room. Up to four seniors can play at a time. Please call the Center to reserve a spot.

11:00am – Trivia –This game will be played in-house. Participants need to register, by calling the Center. There is a different game played every Tuesday at 11:00am.

12:00pm – Grab and Go Lunches –Lunches are served on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with registration only. Each participant needs to register no later than 10:00am the day before. Each lunch costs $4. Participants need to be members of the Center.

1:00pm – Free Drawing – This program is for those seniors who enjoy working on their art projects amongst peers. Art supplies are not provided for this program. Participants are responsible for their supplies and projects. Call to register.

2:00pm – BINGO – The Center is offering BINGO on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration is required to attend. Members can choose which day they play. Each Senior will only be able to play one day per week. This program is in-house. If you are interested please call the Center to register.

Wednesday, June 16th

9:30am & 1:00pm – Billiards – The Center has opened the billiard room. Up to four seniors can play at a time. Please call the Center to reserve a spot.

9:30am - Foot Care – By appointment only. This program is offered to members of the Center. If you are interested in this program, please call the Center to make an appointment.

10:00am – Knitting & Crochet Group – Come work on your own knitting or crochet projects, while chatting with friends and peers. If interested, please call the Center to register.

10:00am – Elder Abuse Presentation – Sandee Wood, from Echn/ Visiting Nurses, will lead a discussion on what Elder Abuse is and who to turn to for help. This presentation is in-house and on Facebook Live. If you are interested please call the Center to register.

11:00am - Quilting Bee – If you quilt or have quilted and would like to talk to like-minded individuals, come join us! The Quilting Bee is the place to share a project or two, learn about new products and/ or just chat about our fabric collections. If you are interested please call the Center to register.

1:00pm – Film Critics Club – A book club, but with movies! The movies can be found on Netflix and also available to borrow from local libraries. All participants are responsible for watching the movie on their own. June’s film is Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. If you are interested, please call the Center for the Zoom information.

Thursday, June 17th

9:30am & 1:00pm – Billiards – The Center has opened the billiard room. Up to four seniors can play at a time. Please call the Center to reserve a spot.

9:30am – Taste of Tai Chi – Susan Barlow leads an hour long Tai Chi Class that can be modified for many physical levels. Tai Chi is offered the first three Thursdays of each month, on Facebook Live.  

9:30am - Foot Care – By appointment only. This program is offered to members of the Center. If you are interested in this program, please call the Center to make an appointment.

9:30am & 1:00pm – Make It & Take It – This month’s painting is “Beautiful Swans.” This program is offered in-house. If you are interested, please call the Center to register. This class is $15 per person.

10:30am – Strength Class with Select Physical Therapy –This class is designed, to over time, help create stronger bodies for better movement. This class is approximately one hour long. It is offered once a week on Facebook Live.

12:00pm – Grab and Go Lunches –Lunches are served on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with registration only. Each participant needs to register no later than 10:00am the day before. Each lunch costs $4. Participants need to be members of the Center.

10:00am – Balance Class with Select Physical Therapy – Victoria teaches a one hour long class that can be modified for different physical levels. This class is every Friday at 10:00am, on Facebook Live.
