Office of the Fire Marshal Fee Schedule
Effective March 23, 2024, the Vernon Office of the Fire Marshal will charge fees for permits, inspections and plan reviews as authorized by Vernon Town Ordinance No. 323. The fees will be collected in conjunction with the Vernon Building Department at the time a building permit is applied for. These fees are separate from any fees charged for a building permit. Fees will be assessed on all projects that require Fire Marshal review, approval and inspections with the exception of one- and two-family homes. The Town Ordinance and the fee schedule is listed below. Please contact our Office with any questions.

Open Burning Permits can obtained in person at the Fire Marshal's Office or Building Department at 55 West Main Street. Please fill out the application, linked below.
- Town Ordinance No. 283 requires a permit for open burning and payment of a $50 fee.
