Vernon Mayor Jason L. McCoy (second row, left) joins volunteer firefighters and
residents during the Governors Day of Caring and Compassion (11/7) to assemble
boxes for delivery to state’s food banks and food pantries.

Mayor Jason McCoy recognizes Local Efforts During National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month:

Jason L. McCoy, Mayor of Vernon, recently recognized the efforts of two local agencies, which assist local residents with recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

At the September 12, 2009 Town Council meeting, Mayor McCoy issued a Mayoral Proclamation to Shawna Schnitzke, Director of Counseling for the Hockanum Valley Community Council, Inc. and Chris Luginbuhl, co-founder, of “Become a Part of the Solution” for their collaborative contributions as local treatment providers and for improving the health and well-being of residents.

to the Dominican Republic
The Town of Vernon is pleased to announce the donation of fire gear to the City of Mao, Dominican Republic, on May 2, 2009 at the Hartford Fire Department Training Academy. Mayor Jason L. McCoy, and Vernon Fire Chief William Call joined together with the City of Hartford to present the equipment, consisting of protective coats and helmets formerly used by the Town of Vernon to Mayor Odalis Rodriguez and Fire Chief Manual Peralita of Mao, located in Valverde, Dominican Republic!
